Whitehouse Pool Sediment Removal Project

This is a completed project. You are in the Archived Projects section of the website. Active projects can be found on the Projects webpage.

Description

Overview

The project is to remove sediment that has built-up and clogged a large culvert beneath Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at milepost 25 in Point Reyes Station, adjacent to the Whitehouse Pool parking lot. The project will allow water to flow properly through the culvert. Inspection of this culvert is part of the annual storm season preparations, although it only needs clearing every few years.

Funding

The estimated $200,000 project is funded by the County's Road & Bridge Fund.

Traffic Impacts

Minimal traffic impacts, if any. Access to the Whitehouse Pool recreation area will not be blocked. The contractor will be staging the equipment outside of the parking lot, and all trails and access to Lagunitas Creek will remain open during the work.
