Description

Overview

The Point Reyes Station Firehouse, built in 1982, will be renovated to improve functionality for occupants and to address current fire safety regulations.  The exterior of the building will be clad in fire resistant cement board siding, lighting updates will address occupant and visitor safety as well as night sky considerations. The interior of the dormitories will be improved including new carpeting, fresh paint, and bathroom renovations. The firefighter kitchen will be updated to meet the needs of the larger field staff on board during the six-to-eight-month fire season.

Funding

Engineer’s estimate for the project is $1,000,000. Funded by Capital Improvement Funds and Fire Funds.

Public impacts

Public services will remain active during construction.  There is no expected closure of the Firehouse associated with this project.
