The Marin Civic Center air handling units (AHU) are reaching the end of useful life. AHU #3 will be refurbished first due to issues of efficiency. The County is seeking the most cost effective and energy efficient solution to extend the life of this unit. A Marin Civic Center heating ventilation and cooling (HVAC) facility assessment will be conducted soon to ensure that the County is seeking the most cost effective and energy efficient solution for the entire HVAC system. The new design would be in line with the Climate Action Plan 2030.
Estimated $565,000 and funding would come from the Capital Improvement Program fund. It is anticipated that PG&E would be providing some funds to the project due to the improved energy efficiency of a new AHU.
