Corte Madera Library HVAC Improvements

This mechanical improvement project will add forced air cooling and heating to the library.  The current heat-only system was installed in 1970 during the original construction of the facility and it is does not meet the modern cooling requirements for patrons and staff. Passive cooling has proved insufficient with the ever-warming environment.  This new cooling and heating system will allow the library to become a climate island during extreme heat and cold events.

Engineer’s estimate for the project is $400,000 and funded through a Measure A bond.

Public impacts

Public access to the library will remain open during the 120 days of active construction.  Access to the lower parking lot will be altered for contractor’s materials and storage. The interior work for the project will be conducted outside of public hours of operation and will not require the library to close.
