San Geronimo Paving Project

Description

Overview

This rehabilitation projects includes pavement resurfacing on approximately 11.1 "lane miles" of roadway, asphalt dig-outs to repair areas of isolated base failure, pavement grinding, minor storm drainage improvements, and roadway striping.

The streets in San Geronimo and Woodacre that will be addressed are: Arroyo Road, Garden Way, Barranca Road, Meadow View Lane, Castle Rock Avenue, Oak Grove Avenue, Castro Street, Railroad Avenue, Chaparral Lane, Redwood Canyon Drive, Elm Avenue, Spring Avenue, Fire Road, and Tamal Road.

Funding

The estimated $5 million project is funded by the County's Road & Bridge Fund.

Traffic impacts

Construction will take place during the daytime hours with traffic control measures.  Work shift road closures are required for grinding and again for paving.  For residential roads, it is expected that each road will be closed twice during the project, for a maximum of 8 hours per day. For collector roads, the road will be completed with lane closures.

Project information notices will be issued by the contractor once their schedule is established. Property owners/residents along the roads scheduled for paving are also given advance written notifications ahead of any work that requires their road to be closed so that residents have time to adequately prepare.  After paving the road, the public will notice an immediate improvement to the road’s aesthetics and rideability.
