Redwood Drive Slide Repair
Description
Overview
The 2023 storms and heavy rain caused extensive damage to the roadway, resulting in a 60-foot-long closure between 170-190 Redwood Drive in Woodacre. The affected slide area extends 50 feet downslope. To restore the road to its pre-disaster function, a new retaining structure must be constructed which will have a concrete retaining wall with drilled piers. This repair project is expected to be followed by a separate paving project that will include this section of road but will have a bigger scope.
Funding
The estimated $600,000 project is seeking FEMA funding as the damage was caused by a federally declared disaster event.
Traffic impacts
Road is currently closed due to the slide and will remain closed until project is completed. Impacted residents continue to have access to their homes via Park Street and Carson Road.
